Event Details

Many of you have asked for more actionable programming that includes examples of social media in action. In other words, real people talking about they use social media to engage their audience. This month, Social Media Club Richmond is presenting "Local Business and Social Media – Is It Working?"

Our panelists represent four Richmond-based businesses that have successfully used social media to drive sales – not online sales, but in store traffic. None are technologists or experts and none were using social media two years ago. They will answer questions such as: Why did you engage in the first place? What were the challenges you’ve faced along the way? How did you build an audience? What has been most successful?

Sponsors: This event would not be possible without the support of your sponsors – The Hodges Partnership, Richmondmom.com and Fuego.

Social Media Club Richmond (SMCRVA)

Social Media Club is an international organization, founded in 2006, with the goal of hosting conversations that explore key issues facing our society as technologies transform the way we connect, communicate, collaborate and relate to each other. Today, there are 300+ chapters on six continents, the largest such collection of social media professionals and enthusiasts in the world.

Social Media Club Richmond (SMCRVA) was founded in May of 2009 to bring the ideals of the larger organization to central Virginia in the form of relevant, practical social media programs on a monthly basis. Our events have ranged from panel discussions identifying the ways changing technologies have affected myriad industries to presentations from noted authors and inspirational guest speakers, always with the goal of mixing interesting business ideas and practices with a networking and social component.

SMCRVA is a non-profit organization; our regular events are open to the public and typically carry a small fee to cover catering and other venue costs. While opportunities to become an official member of the national organization exist, we consider every attendee of our SMCRVA events to be a local member. If you would like to volunteer at an upcoming event or like to know how you can get more involved in the local organization, send us an email at SMCRichmond@gmail.com
